The running mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) professor Opoku Agyemang has reaffirmed the NDC’s commitment to investigating the alleged looting of Tema lands by officials of the Akufo-Addo government.
Her statement comes after the Tema Traditional Council raised concerns about government officials seizing their lands without compensation.
Spokesperson for the council Nii Shipi Armah, brought the matter to the attention of Professor Opoku Agyemang during her courtesy call on the traditional leaders as part of her campaign tour to the three Tema constituencies.
Professor Opoku Agyemang assured the traditional leaders that an NDC government would thoroughly investigate the matter and return the lands to their rightful owners.
She stressed the NDC’s dedication to addressing the injustices faced by the Tema community and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
The Tema Traditional Council’s concerns comes in the wake of widespread discontent expressed by chiefs across the country, who continue to express concerns with the increasing plundering of state lands acquired from traditional authorities
