Former President John Mahama has thrown down the gauntlet, telling Vice President Bawumia that paying the allowances of NABCO trainees, nursing trainees, and national service personnel is a must if he wants to become President. essentially, Mahama is saying that Bawumia needs to put his money where his mouth is and fulfil the government’s obligations to these groups.
Mahama pointed out that the NPP government has failed to pay NABCO participants for nine months, despite promising them training and employment.
He also highlighted that teacher and nursing trainee allowances have been unpaid for 30 months, which is a significant burden on these individuals.
By making this statement, Mahama is holding Bawumia accountable for the government’s actions and emphasizing the importance of supporting vulnerable groups.
It’s a clear message that if Bawumia wants to lead the country, he needs to demonstrate his commitment to the welfare of its citizens.
