Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has reiterated the government’s determination to secure justice for slain investigative journalist Ahmed Suale, assuring his family that efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice remain ongoing.
The Minister gave the assurance during a visit to Ahmed Suale’s family at Wulensi in the Nanumba South District of the Northern Region on Saturday.
The visit formed part of a broader trip to the area, where Hon. Iddrisu first joined the NDC Constituency Chairman in Bimbilla to mourn the passing of his father before paying a courtesy call on the bereaved family.
Speaking to Ahmed Suale’s mother, Madam Yakubu Arahamatu, the Education Minister emphasized that the government remains committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding the journalist’s murder and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.

“God’s justice is worth the wait, and government’s pursuit of justice in this matter is worth pursuing. We will continue to pursue it, we will unravel it, and we pray that God will support us to do so,” he stated.
According to Hon. Iddrisu, although justice may sometimes appear delayed, those seeking to evade accountability will ultimately face the law.
The Minister’s visit comes amid continuing public interest in the unresolved murder of Ahmed Suale, whose death sparked widespread concern among media practitioners, civil society groups and advocates of press freedom in Ghana and beyond.
In a gesture of support to the family, Hon. Iddrisu also assured Ahmed Suale’s sister that she would be considered under the Ghana Education Service teacher recruitment process, providing her an opportunity to support the family and build a sustainable livelihood.
The visit underscores government’s stated commitment to pursuing justice in one of Ghana’s most high-profile attacks on a journalist, while also extending support to the family left behind.
