President has fulfilled another campaign promise to engage the private sector to propel the economy for sustainable growth
This is evudent in the second edition of the Kwahu Business Forum.
Delivering on a key promise made to the business community during his election campaign.
The event, themed “The Future of Business: The Role of the Financial Sector,” brought together business leaders, investors, policymakers, and entrepreneurs from across Ghana and beyond.
The President emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector to reshape Ghana’s economic future.
“This forum is open to all Ghanaians and foreigners who want to do business in Ghana,” he stated, adding that the goal is to “propel the economy and promote sustainable businesses.”
Challenging a long-standing cultural narrative, the President called on Ghanaians to move beyond the identity of traders and embrace roles as investors, manufacturers, and industrialists.
“Let’s shake ourselves of the mindset that we are traders,” he urged. “We can be much more.”
Highlighting regional economic strategies, he singled out Afram Plains as a Special Agrobusiness Zone firmly on the government’s radar.
He expressed hope that future leaders will uphold the legacy of engaging directly with businesses through such forums.
On the economy, the President projected optimism.
“I am confident that we will turn the corner,” he said, citing prudent fiscal management and spending discipline. He further announced key policy directions aimed at bolstering the financial sector and supporting local enterprises, including:
A commitment to reduce the cost of borrowing
The upcoming launch of a National Venture Capital Fund
A focus on financial inclusion as a central agenda
He also outlined his vision for the future of Ghanaian business: one that is digital, green, and inclusive.
Stressing the need for collaboration, he added, “The future of Ghana’s business will not be driven by government alone.”
The President concluded with a rallying call: “Let’s build a country that is competitive, productive, and inclusive.”
The Kwahu Business Forum is expected to become a major annual platform for dialogue, innovation, and investment, setting a new tone for public-private partnership in Ghana’s development journey.
