President of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has arrived in Abidjan to attend and address the 60th Annual Meeting of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the 51st Annual Meeting of the African Development Fund.
The high-level meetings are being held under the theme “Making Africa’s Capital Work Better for Africa’s Development.”
President Mahama touched down at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport, where he was received by the Ivorian Minister of Transport, Hon. Kone Amadou.
He is accompanied by his Executive Secretary, Dr. Calistus Mahama, and Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations, Mr. Stanliv Dogbe.
The meetings, which officially commence on May 27, will bring together African leaders, policymakers, and financial experts to discuss strategies for enhancing the mobilization and effective utilization of capital across the continent.
A major highlight of the gathering will be the election of a new AfDB President, as the current president, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, steps down after completing two successful terms and becoming ineligible for re-election.
President Mahama is expected to deliver a keynote address during the sessions, focusing on sustainable development financing and Africa’s economic resilience in the face of global challenges.
