GoldBod Jewellery Limited has launched what it calls Ghana’s first fully digital, 24-hour online gold showroom, marking a major milestone in the country’s drive toward value addition in the gold sector.
The new e-commerce platform, Jewellery.goldbod.gov.gh, was unveiled by the company’s Managing Director, Getrude Emefa Donkor, at a press event in Accra on Thursday.
Describing the launch as a “historic turning point,” the MD said the platform gives Ghanaians and international customers instant access to Ghanaian-crafted jewellery and pure gold investment tablets.
The portal allows users to browse the full collection, view live real-time gold prices, make secure payments through mobile money, cards or bank transfer, and arrange pickup at designated showrooms.
She noted that the platform is more than a retail website, it represents a technological leap that pushes Ghana further into the global jewellery market. According to her, this innovation directly supports the national value-addition agenda by keeping foreign exchange within the country.
“Every cedi or dollar spent with us stays in Ghana. The gold is sourced locally, crafted by Ghanaian artisans, and the value circulates within our own economy,” she emphasized, adding that the platform would help position Ghana as a rising force in the global luxury-goods industry.
The Managing Director encouraged the public to explore the new platform, describing it as the easiest pathway yet for Ghanaians to own locally crafted gold jewellery or invest in 24-karat gold tablets with guaranteed long-term value appreciation.
She noted that the portal is only the beginning of a broader digital transformation strategy that will see the brand expand across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
