Second session of parliament to commence on February 3 – Bagbin announces

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced the date for the commencement of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament.

In a constitutional instrument issued from the Office of the Speaker, Parliament House, Accra, the Speaker stated that the next session will begin at noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

“I appoint Parliament House, Accra, to be the place, and 12 noon of Tuesday, 3rd February, 2026, to be the time at which the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence,” the document said.

The instrument was issued in accordance with Article 112(1) of the Constitution and was signed by the Speaker on January 19, 2026.
