The National Democratic Congress – USA Chapter has applauded the nomination of Professor Naana Jane Opoku – Agyemang as the running mate to former President John Dramani Mahama for the upcoming General Elections.
According to the group the sterling performance of the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast has endeared her not only to academia but virtually to all the boundaries across Ghana.

We the members of the NDC-USA Chapter extend our warmest and heartfelt congratulations to you on your selection as the Vice-Presidential Candidate for the great Akatamanso family for 2020 presidential election. The timing of your appointment cannot be any better considering the predicament the country is currently, and where we need an experienced and selfless people like yourself to help stir the affairs of the country to bring us back onto the right track.
Most of us are privy to the many glowing reports of your work in the educational and the public sectors and hence are confident that your background, experience and influence will bring us a resounding victory come December 7th, 2020. Also, your nomination would go a long way to encourage, empower and embolden our mothers, sisters and daughters to venture into politics which would bring their knowledge, expertise and motherly love to bear and hence enhance further development of our dear country.
It must be noted that you are the first ever female vice-presidential candidate of a major political party in Ghana and we are very proud of your achievement.
