market women in Buduburam in the Gomoa East of the central Region have formally declared their support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the upcoming elections approach.
Their endorsement came during a campaign visit by the NDC running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang.
leader for the Buduburam market women, Fatima Ankofo disclosed that their declaration of support is based on a promise by the leadership of the NDC to construct a modern market complex for traders in Buduburam.
Ankofo said the Buduburam market women trust the NDC to fulfil this promise because of the party’s acclaimed record of undertaking infrastructure development.
The market women believe that the proposed market complex would enhance their economic opportunities.
They acknowledged the NDC’s efforts to improve their livelihoods and endorsed Professor Opoku Agyemang’s leadership.
The Buduburam market women further promised to mobilize votes for the NDC to ensure the party wins the elections
Meanwhile, the NDC running mate Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang had donated 200 bags of cement for the renovation of the Buduburam community centre.
The donation was in response to a plea from the chief of the area Nana Kojo Essel who said the center was is in a deplorable state.
Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman’s presence in the central Region was part of the second phase of her campaign tour of her home Region.
she is expected to visit about ten constituencies in three days to energize the NDC base, canvas for votes for the party’s Presidential ticket led by John Mahama and all NDC parliamentary candidates.
