The campaign team for Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, has categorically rejected a misleading report circulated by the Daily Guide network.
The report titled “Mahama Running Mate Runs Away from Winneba Market” suggests that market women in Winneba deserted Professor Opoku Agyemang during her campaign visit.
In response, the campaign team condemned the report as “false, baseless, and a complete fabrication.”
In a statement signed by James Agyenim Boateng, spokesperson for the campaign team said Professor Opoku Agyemang’s visit to Winneba was met with enthusiasm and was “very successful.”
The statement highlighted that during her trip, she engaged with market women in their shops, interacted with shoppers and lorry drivers, and participated in a well-attended rally at the Winneba lorry station.
Furthermore, the campaign team clarified that at no point during the visit did the Member of Parliament for Effutu share the same location as Professor Opoku Agyemang, reinforcing that the claim of abandonment by market women was entirely untrue.
The campaign team has therefore urged the public to disregard the false report and reassured supporters that Professor Opoku Agyemang’s campaign efforts will continue robustly.
