The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has launched the 2018 Marketing Performance Awards here in Accra.
The awards which is the thirtieth edition will be under the theme “Celebrating 30 Years of Promoting Marketing Excellence: Synergies for the Future” aims at recognizing outstanding organizations and individuals who have contributed immensely towards reshaping the focus of corporate Ghana.
Briefing the media on the main event which is slated for September 14, 2019, Vice President of CIMG and Chairman of the awards committee, Daniel Kasser Tee disclosed that new categories have been added to the awards.
“This year, we have introduced three more awards due to the relevance of those sectors. These are: Real Estate Company of the Year, Private Health Facility of the Year and Postal and Courier Service Company of the Year.”
The awards cover six major competitive areas: Hall of Fame, Personalities, Media/MARCOMS Organizations, Business Organizations, Products and Non for Profit Organizations.
According to Mr. Kasser Tee “companies which perform creditably for a period of 10 years will subsequently be elevated to the Hall of Fame Elite category.
Touching on other awards scheme in the country, he indicated that even though CIMG do not seek to condemn any particular awards organizers, the eventual outcomes of some awards leaves much to be desired.
He therefore indicated that “as an institute with one of the longest standing awards in Ghana, the CIMG is ever ready to provide the necessary support and guidelines to others in order to make award standards in Ghana quality depended and credible.”
“On our part, he CIMG would like tom assure the general public that we shall continue to explore ways of improving standards for the much celebrated awards in the years ahead, and if necessary play advocacy roles to improve on the various wards schemes through peer review mechanisms such that awards schemes in the country will command the needed respect.”
On his part, President of CIMG, Kojo Mattah underscored the need to engage stakeholders extensively and constantly to always sustain the credibility and quality of the wards.
“The success of the CIMG awards is therefore anchored on our resolve not to do everything on our own but realizing that when we build synergies we will get to where want to be.The CIMG will continue to collaborate, learn from our past and will build the necessary synergies capable of taking us to the next levels.”
