The leadership of the Concerned Lotto Agents Association of Ghana(CLAAG), says it has taken notice of how officials of the National Lotteries Authority(NLA) and some members of the security agencies are going round and breaking down lotto kiosk, harassing and arresting some lotto agents and writers.
CLAAG is also wondering why agents and writers who are downstream workers be receiving such ill thought out and callous actions from the NLA and the security agencies for no reason.
In a viral video, Some lotto kiosk mostly made of wood were seen been destroyed by officials of the NLA and some men in military uniforms.
In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of CLAAG, Kwaku Duah Tawiah, he noted that prior to the demolition CLAAG had written to the NLA to discuss matters affecting the operations of its members which includes the order by the Authority for members of the Ghana Lotto Operators Association to pay 20% commission to its writers, but according to Mr. Duah Tawiah, the NLA has refused to acknowledge the letter.
He noted that this action been vented on lotto operators by the NPP government through the board and management of the NLA is rather insensitive and obnoxious.
The Executive Secretary of CLAAG condemned the action by the NLA and assured that his outfit will explore every legitimate means to have the matter resolved, calling on members to remain calm and be law abiding as leadership activate the various processes.
