Corporate Ghana and members of the international community have stepped forward with significant cash donations, food supplies, medical items, and other humanitarian assistance to support the Government’s relief efforts for victims of the devastating June 29, 2026 floods.

The torrential rains and widespread flooding, which severely affected several parts of the country, particularly Accra, displaced thousands of residents and caused extensive damage to homes, businesses, and public infrastructure. Since the disaster, government has intensified relief and recovery efforts, with support from the private sector and development partners.

At a presentation ceremony held at the Office of the President, Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration), Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Legal Advisor to the President, Marietta Brew, and Presidential Adviser and Special Aide, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, received the donations on behalf of the Government.

Speaking during the presentation, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo expressed the Government’s appreciation to all the organisations for demonstrating compassion and solidarity with flood victims.

“These generous contributions reflect the true spirit of patriotism and shared responsibility. On behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and the Government of Ghana, we sincerely thank every organisation and individual who has supported our national relief efforts. Your kindness will go a long way in restoring hope to affected families.”

She assured donors that the items would be distributed through the appropriate government agencies to ensure they reached the affected communities.

Among the cash contributors, SoftCare FM Manufacturing Company Limited donated GH¢200,000, while the Ghana Institute of Surveyors contributed GH¢50,000 towards the relief effort.

The Ghana Association of Chinese Societies and Companies presented one of the largest consignments of relief items, including over 1,100 bags of rice, thousands of cartons of food products, medical supplies, sleeping mats, plastic household items, school bags, water tanks, electric appliances, sanitation materials, and temporary shelter equipment.

Scancom PLC (MTN Ghana), through its partnership with the Multimedia Group’s Flood Relief Campaign, donated 1,400 student mattresses, 1,192 blankets, and 998 relief boxes containing food items, mosquito nets, detergents, and other essential supplies.

Sentuo Group Limited donated 4,000 bags of rice, 600 bags of sugar, and 387 boxes of granular maize, while Ecobank Ghana contributed medicines, mattresses, blankets, clothing, and drinking water to support affected families.

Other corporate organisations that donated relief items included SoftCare FM Manufacturing Company Limited, B5 Plus Limited, Eezzy Group, Tobinco Group, and Kam Trading & Farms Limited, all of which provided food items, hygiene products, baby care materials, mosquito nets, cooking oil, blankets, disinfectants, and other essential household supplies.

Government officials reiterated that the donations would complement ongoing humanitarian interventions by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other state agencies to provide immediate relief and support the recovery of affected communities.

The Government has encouraged other corporate institutions, civil society organisations, faith-based groups, and individuals to continue supporting the national response as rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts continue across flood-hit areas.
