Henry Osei Akoto, an NDC Organizer Hopeful has given friendly advice to the NPP government after the NPP Deputy Communications Officer, Ernest Bempah Bonso claimed the booing of President Akufo-Addo at the Global Citizen Festival was orchestrated by the NDC.
In the last few days, news flooding various social media outlets has been about the mass booing of President Nana Akufo-Addo at the 2022 Global Citizens Festival held in Accra on Saturday.
H.E. Akufo-Addo mounted the stage to address Ghanaians, in an attempt to relay how his government is putting out measures to tackle climate change and other matters of interest to the Global Citizens.
The crowd present at the event, made up of large youth, ended up booing the President during his address with some clapping and shouting “away”.
In a release by the NPP Deputy Communications Officer addressing what happened at the event, he blamed the NDC, accusing them of being the brains behind the treatment given to the President by the festival goers.
He said in a statement, “It is pure evil and utter disgraceful for NDC to organize its supporters to go and shout down the President the manner it happened.”
Meanwhile, the NDC National Organizer hopeful, Henry Osei Akoto has responded to the release by the NPP.
He rubbished the accusations made at the NDC and advised the NPP government to go back and do an examination of their bad governance as it was the cause of the treatment the president received.
In a Twitter post, Henry Osei Akoto said, “ Nobody was informed that the clueless Akufo-Addo will be speaking at the event so how did the NDC orchestrate the booing?”
“Ghanaians showed their general displeasure on Saturday, they will not do self-introspection and show remorse, they want to pin their incompetence on the NDC,” he added in the tweet.
