Popular veteran musician, Qweci who is formerly known as Ded Buddy has tasked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to review his stance on the controversial ‘E-Levy’ initiative.
“My honest opinion about the E- Levy is that I think when our leaders want to introduce an initiative they should let their boys go to the streets and ask the ordinary people about what they think about it,” he fumed.
The Electronic-Levy which has become a bone of contention between the minority and majority Members of Parliament(MPs) has been widely condemned by most Ghanaians.
Speaking on the Kastle Entertainment Show with Amansan Krakye, Qweci said the government must not disregard the opinion of the ordinary people on the streets.
He remarked, “Before you bring an initiative on board you need to realize whether it will be helpful to the people or not, and with the e-levy, they need to listen to what people are saying on the streets because things aren’t going well.
He added, “We plead with them that they shouldn’t just seek the views of some few people and introduce anything at all but they should talk to those at the grassroots.
“The little that someone will feed on will be used in paying such levies and it’s not helpful to the ordinary and those suffering in silence,” he said on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM.
