International Risk Consultant Raymond Archer has called for the criminal investigation and consequent prosecution of the military officers and men behind the highly condemned invasion of a suburb Ashaiman.

This comes after the High Command of the Ghana Armed Forces admitted responsibility for the invasion of Ashaiman Taifa and Tulaku.
According to a statement issued by the Director General in charge of Public Relations at GAF Brigadier General Aggrey Quarshie, the invasion was an intelligence led swoop intended to pick up the alleged killers of a 21 year old trooper of the GAF in the early hours of 4 March 2023.
Speaking to Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation International Risk Consultant Raymond Archer said even though the murder was condemnable, the so called swoop by the military cannot be justified.
He told Radio Gold the military has no business conducting homicide investigations which is the preserve of the Ghana Police Service.
He said the excesses of the so called special operation exposes the military’s lack of capacity in investigating such matters.
Raymond Archer said the brutalities suffered by residents of the two communities would not be allowed even during war as the rights of civilians described as non-combatants must be protected.
The Risk Consultant wondered if the military expected the residents in question to cooperate with investigations into the death of the trooper after they have been badly brutalized.
