Food and Drugs Authority has ordered the immediate recall of all Allca Adult and puppy beef meals.
In a release dated October 9, 2023, the authority stated that the product has not been registered with the Food and Drugs Authority while the manufacturers Allca Bio-Technology Company Limited was operating from unlicensed premises.
The FDA in the statement Allca Adult and puppy beef meals came to their “notice through several reports of illness and death of dogs who consumed them.”
The FDA said it has closed down the manufacturing sites while it investigates the cause of contamination and resultant death
The FDA has therefore urged all pet owners to contact a veterinarian if their pets have consumed Allca Adult and puppy beef meals, as it may cause harm or even death to their pets.
The FDA also called on wholesalers and retailers who have the product in stock to return it to the supplier or the nearest FDA office for proper disposal.
The FDA stated that it was working with the police to investigate the matter, as the distributor of the product, Mr. Carlos Muttouk, has been arrested
