Rana motors launches first “Assembled in Ghana” Ashok Leyland phoenix vehicles

Indian car manufacturer, Ashok Leyland has launched it smart compact truck known as phoenix, in association with Rana Motors, its sole authorized distributor in Ghana.

The stylish and charming vehicles were assembled by Ghanaian engineers at the biggest ever assemble plant in West Africa located at Amasaman in Accra the capital city of Ghana.

This becomes the first time in the history of Ghana that Ashok Leyland phoenix trucks have been fully assembled exceptionally by Ghanaian engineers.

The small truck provides power-packed performance and increased productivity along with a safe and comfortable driving experience.

With its advanced design, the phoenix trucks offers additional space with its walkthrough cabin layout, better multi-angle adjustable seats and a steering column that comes with telescopic movement providing comfort and convenience.

Equipped with a bigger load carrying area, higher load capacity of and a superior fuel efficiency and durability, this compact truck has been engineered to offer owners great profitability with lower total cost of operations.

The phoenix trucks are powered by a 1500 cc turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 80Hp of maximum power and 190Nm of peak torgue to help achieve optimum fuel efficiency.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Rajesh R. head, international operations unit, Ashok Leyland said the phoenix trucks assembled right here in Ghana “has the same standard as any of our vehicles produced in our modern integrated plants”.

Mr. Rajesh R. was confident the partnership between Ashok Leyland, Rana Motors and the government of Ghana will “continue to innovate, excel, and drive progress, shaping a future where transportation is not just a necessity, but a seamless experience”.

On his part, the Chief Operating Officer, Rana Motors, Kassem Odaymat who described the phoenix trucks as “cost effective solution” for business owner also stated that “every phoenix truck leaving our assembly plant meets the highest quality benchmark and is at par with any imported unit”.

Mr. Kassem Odaymat stressed “there are two standout of the phoenix, first, it’s proudly assembled right here in Ghana, making it the very first light commercial vehicle to be assembled in our country. 

Second, it comes with a class-leading 5 years warranty, underscoring the trust we have in its quality”.

Ashok Leyland is a commercial vehicle manufacturing company based in India. 

They produce a range of heavy-duty trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles. 

The Phoenix series is one of their popular products, known for its reliability, durability, and fuel efficiency. 

Ashok Leyland launched their Phoenix series trucks in Ghana to expand their market and meet the growing demand for commercial vehicles in the country.
