Member of Parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has accused Sanitation Minister Freda Prempeh of telling a lie “from the darkest part of hell.”

The North Tongu MP was responding to the claim by Freda Prempeh that the victims of the devastation of communities in 10 constituencies have themselves to blame for their predicaments.

Freda Prempeh

The Sanitation and Water Resources minister said the victims of the devastating floods are suffering for ignoring the advice of the Volta River Authority and NADMO to move out of the area before the spillage from the Akosombo Dam began.

In a sharp response, MP for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said the Minister was telling a blatant falsehood.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa told Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation, the “Akuffo Addo’s ministers must be told in clear language that we can’t take it anymore; we’ve had enough of the insult; we’ve had enough of the blatant lies.”

He said the Minister mistook residents of the affected areas for squatters and “should be told that my people are not squatters.”

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa challenged the minister to disclose the alternative arrangement they put in place to accommodate the people and where they prepared for the people to move to.
