The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana has issued an urgent cautionary notice to the general public, with a specific focus on the nation’s youth, regarding the deceptive activities of individuals and networks associated with QNET and similar recruitment schemes.
The Ministry reports a worrying increase in the number of Ghanaian nationals being lured out of the country under false pretenses. These fraudulent operations typically involve enticing victims with fabricated promises of lucrative employment, business prospects, or specialized assistance in securing European visas.
In reality, these deceptive schemes have left numerous victims stranded in foreign jurisdictions, often leading to their detention by immigration authorities or forcing them into distressing and exploitative conditions abroad.
In light of these developments, the Ministry strongly advises all citizens to exercise extreme caution. Individuals are urged to verify all travel, recruitment, and business offers through official and appropriate channels before making any financial commitments or traveling outside Ghana.
Furthermore, the Ministry calls upon parents, guardians, and community leaders to support national efforts in educating the public on the inherent dangers of such schemes. Suspicious activities should be reported promptly to the Ministry via the Consular Department at consular@mfa.gov.gh or +233 204 552 750, as well as to relevant security and immigration authorities.
The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with national institutions to protect the welfare of Ghanaian citizens and to curb the activities of criminal networks that prey on unsuspecting individuals.
