The Ghana Health Service is looking into some serious claims about the Winneba Trauma Hospital. People are saying that the hospital left a patient all alone in the bush near a town called Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region.
From what we know, the patient was in the hospital for about two months after she got hurt in an accident. She had two broken legs and some mental health problems because of the accident. The problem was that her family never came to take care of her like the families of other patients did.
People who live in the area say that the hospital used their ambulance to take the patient to the edge of a town called Ojobi. They left her there in a wheelchair because she said that was her hometown. Later on, she was found dead in the same spot.
Some people say they saw the ambulance drop her off just outside the town. They thought that maybe someone was going to come and take her home, so they didn’t go over to check on her.
But there are stories going around that a few days after the ambulance left, people noticed that the woman wasn’t moving. Eventually, she died.
The Ghana Health Service says they are taking these reports very seriously. They want to find out if the story is true or not. They said, “We will look into this the same way we always do when something bad might have happened in the public service. If we find out that someone did something wrong, we will punish them according to our rules.”
The GHS is asking everyone to be patient while they figure out what really happened. They promise that if anyone from the hospital did something wrong, they will face serious consequences.
This is a very sad story, and it’s important that we find out the truth. No one should ever be left alone in the middle of nowhere, especially when they are sick or hurt. We need to make sure that our hospitals are taking good care of everyone who needs their help.
