Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has called on some 15 NPP chairmen who openly endorsed John Boadu ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Delegates Conference.
According to him, this is the first time in the history of the political party that NPP Chairmen have openly endorsed a candidate going into an election.
He notes that it is very worrying and therefore if they were wise enough, they would have resigned from their position.
Kennedy Agyapong indicated that these persons are the reason for the disunity in the political party and the earlier they do away with their shameful ways the better for the political party’s future.
“Wontumi should cool down, he should cool down because he doesn’t own this political party. Yes because of the way he was behaving and whipping all Chairmen to raise their hands reluctantly. All of them have been embarrassed if it were somewhere all the Chairmen would have resigned.
I’ve learned my lesson that the disunity in the party stems from the fact that leaders in the party openly support so this time I said to get unity in the party I’m not going to openly support anybody. If you’re good and the people believe in your work, they will vote for you. So I stayed away.
But for the first time in the history of the NPP political party, you see 15 chairmen raising their hands because they’ve been whipped. They should go and learn sense that if you’re party chairman and you starve your people down there you cannot change their minds and that is the decision we have taken,” he said.
