President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the government has earmarked GHC 14 billion for the implementation of the Big Push Infrastructure Project this year.
Addressing traditional leaders, religious bodies, professional groups, political parties, and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region as part of his thank-you tour, President Mahama said that the cabinet will soon approve priority projects under the ambitious infrastructure initiative.
According to the President, a significant portion of the investment will be directed towards road construction and improvement, a sector he described as crucial for national development and regional connectivity.
“The Big Push will see major investments in infrastructure, especially roads, which are key to economic growth and access to essential services,” President Mahama stated.
He further disclosed that the Minister of Finance has assured government’s full financial commitment to the project. Contractors involved in the Big Push will receive 15% of their mobilization funds upfront, and all certified payment claims will be settled within two weeks of submission.
The Big Push Infrastructure Project forms part of government’s broader development agenda aimed at accelerating infrastructure growth, creating jobs, and improving the standard of living for Ghanaians across all regions
