The minority leader Haruna Iddrisu has denied reports that he has taken over Wa All Stars.
The team has been in limbo since its owner Kwesi Nyatakyi, the former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President was handed a lifetime ban.
There were however reports earlier today that the Minority leader in Parliament, a football enthusiast had taken over the club.
The reports further claimed that supposed new owner Haruna Iddrisu was planning to move Wa All Stars to Tamale, rename it Steadfast FC to replace his Division team.
The Tamale South MP in a statement denies the reports and indicated that he has not had any discussions with the beleaguered owner of the Upper West based team Kwesi Nyatakyi over a possible takeover.
“That I have NOT completed or intend to take over the ownership of Wa All Stars Football Club. That I have not had discussions with Mr. Nyantakyi on any matter relating to the takeover of Wa All Stars FC”, he stated.
He also expressed his commitment to ensuring that his Tamale based team Steadfast FC wins promotion into the Ghanaian premier league.
“That I am a Patron of Steadfast United FC, a Division One League Club in Northern Region with ambition to win promotion into the Premier League in the not too distant future. That my focus and commitment is to support Steadfast United to win promotion to the Premier League”, the minority leader said.
