The Minority in Parliament says the increased fees charged by the Renal Unit of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital were illegal.
The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital was forced to backtrack and withdraw the over 100 percent increase in charge for dialysis after the public uproar that greeted the increase.
Ranking Member on Parliament’s Select Committee on Health Kwabena Mintah Akandoh in a statement revealed stated that the hospital unlawfully charged dialysis patients at the outpatient department of its Renal Unit.
Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has therefore demanded that the hospital refund the monies to the patients who were overcharged.
Meanwhile, a Medical Professional Thomas Anaba has demanded that the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital penalize the Head of its Renal Unit for his actions.
Speaking in an interview with Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation, Dr. Thomas Anaba demanded that the management should be held accountable for their actions.
