The leader and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has donated an undisclosed amount of money to support the Oguaamanhen as the people of Cape Coast celebrate the Oguaa Fetu Afahye.
The donation was presented by his 2024 vice presidential candidate, Professor Naana Jane-Opoku-Agyemang.
The donation is a demonstration of the former President’s commitment to the well-being and development of the people of Cape Coast.
The gesture is expected to support various initiatives and activities of the Oguaamanhen, particularly in the areas of education and cultural preservation.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang, a native of the region, praised the Oguaamanhen for his efforts in promoting the rich traditions and customs of the people of Cape Coast.
She underscored the importance of supporting community development and cultural heritage.

On Saturday, Professor Opoku-Agyemang participated in the Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebrations in Cape Coast, alongside the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, as the Special Guest of Honour.
She expressed her delight in attending the durbar of chiefs and people, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and traditions displaced during the event.
The Oguaa Fetu Afahye is an annual festival celebrated by the people of Cape Coast, showcasing their customs, music, and traditions.
This year’s event was particularly notable with the presence of the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.
