Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has been conferred with a chieftaincy title by the chiefs and people of the Komenda Traditional Area in the Central Region.

The enstoolment, which took place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, formed part of the activities marking this year’s Komendaman Nyeyi Festival. Professor Opoku-Agyemang was installed under the stool name Owoabrempong Kru-Kow I.

According to the Komenda Traditional Council, the title symbolises the community’s acknowledgement of the Vice President’s distinguished service to the nation, particularly in the areas of education, leadership and national development.

The ceremony was conducted with full traditional rites and accompanied by cultural displays befitting the occasion.

In their remarks, the chiefs commended the Vice President for her sustained dedication to improving the welfare of citizens and expressed confidence that her enstoolment would reinforce collaboration between the institution of chieftaincy and the state in the pursuit of development.
