Ahead of the opening of the Second Session of the 9th Parliament, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga disclosed that government is preparing to change the name of Kotoka International Airport.
Speaking to journalists, he said the facility is expected to be renamed Accra International Airport, a move he described as part of a wider effort to align national institutions with Ghana’s democratic ideals and identity.
According to Mr Ayariga, the process will follow laid-down legal steps, with a bill set to be laid before Parliament for consideration.
He emphasised that decisions of this nature must be rooted in law and reflect the collective will of Ghanaians.
“Government intends to rename Kotoka International Airport to Accra International Airport,” Hon. Ayariga said.
