President John Dramani Mahama is set to welcome Emmerson Mnangagwa for a three-day State Visit to Ghana from April 1 to April 3, 2026, in a move aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
According to a statement issued by the Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, President Mnangagwa will arrive at the Kotoka International Airport at 3:00 PM on Wednesday.
He will be received by President Mahama with full military honours, including the inspection of a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces and a 21-gun salute.
A State Banquet will be hosted later in the evening by President Mahama in honour of his Zimbabwean counterpart, celebrating the longstanding friendship between Ghana and Zimbabwe.
The highlight of the visit will be bilateral talks scheduled to take place at the Peduase Lodge, following a private tête-à-tête between the two leaders.
The discussions are expected to focus on deepening cooperation in key sectors such as trade, tourism, health, sanitation, agriculture, anti-corruption efforts, and job creation.
The engagements will culminate in the signing and exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding covering areas of mutual interest.
As part of his itinerary, President Mnangagwa will tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, where he will be briefed on Ghana’s advancements in healthcare delivery and waste management technologies.
He will also visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the mausoleum of Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s founding father.
President Mnangagwa is expected to depart Ghana on Friday, April 3, with full departure honours at the Jubilee Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport.
