The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening loan recovery measures to ensure financial sustainability and enhance its ability to support more beneficiaries.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s morning show on Thursday, 19th September 2025, monitored by Radio Gold, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MASLOC, Khalida M.A. Seidu, highlighted loan repayment as a critical priority for the Centre.
“Ensuring effective loan recovery is essential to the sustainability of MASLOC.
Beneficiaries must be disciplined and committed to repaying their loans so that others can also benefit,” Madam Seidu emphasized.
She explained that while MASLOC has made significant strides in providing financial support to small-scale businesses and vulnerable groups, the challenge of delayed repayments threatens the Centre’s ability to meet its objectives.
“We cannot allow a culture of non-repayment to undermine MASLOC’s mandate. That is why we are introducing measures to encourage discipline, including the publication of names and faces of persistent defaulters,” she stated.
The Deputy CEO assured that the current administration is determined to transform MASLOC into a more robust and sustainable institution, adding that loan repayments are vital for extending the Centre’s reach to new beneficiaries.
MASLOC, which was established to provide micro and small loans to promote entrepreneurship and poverty alleviation, has supported thousands of Ghanaians since its inception.
The new leadership says it is committed to reforms that will safeguard the institution’s future.
