The Bono Regional Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly dismissed attempts to connect the party to the gruesome murder of a young pastor in the Banda Constituency.
Media reports claim the young clergyman died after being caught in the middle of clashes between supporters of the two major political in the constituency.

Responding to the media reports, Bono Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo said no agent of the NDC was anywhere near the scene of the crime.
He told Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive the young pastor was killed at a roadblock erected by supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with the tacit endorsement of the governing party’s parliamentary candidate Joe Danquah.
He said the NPP youth erected the roadblock after the NDC resisted attempts to prevent members of the Ewe community in Bawdwease from registering.
According to him before erecting the roadblock, the NPP youth in question attacked the elder brother of Member of Parliament for the area Ibrahim Ahmed in his home for insisting that the NPP uses the proper procedure to challenge any registrant they deem unfit
He alleged that one Kwame Afrane who was a few weeks earlier arrested with 12 pump action guns and 13 boxes of cartridges, led the youth who erected the roadblock.
Efo Worlany Tsekpo further alleged that the NPP PC who is the Chief Executive of the Middle Belt Authority led the group that attempted to prevent members of the Ewe community from registering and was aware of the activities of the rampaging party youth.
He said the youth having failed to get their way, erected the roadblock on the road that connected Banda Ahenkro to Wenchi.
The Bono Regional Organizer alleged that the rampaging youth stopped all cars, forced passengers to alight and resorted to attack anyone with some sort of connection to the MP of Banda Ahmed Ibrahim.
Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo said his information was to the effect that the deceased who hailed from the hometown of the MP was on one of those lorries.
He indicated that he has been informed that the deceased was attacked and stabbed to his death by the rampaging youth who mistook him for an NDC agent.
Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo said deceased was not a politician but a Methodist Youth pastor who recently completed a College of Education and had returned from honouring an invitation by the Resident Methodist pastor in Wenchi.
He said the deceased recently loss his father and leaves behind a widowed mother.
