Former President John Dramani Mahama will on Tuesday 21 March 2023 formalize his bid to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) into the 2024 General elections.
The former President is in the Ashanti region to interact with delegates and party members as well as make a case for his aspirations to be Flagbearer of the NDC as a first step in his bid to lead the opposition party to form the government to run Ghana from January 2025.
In a statement, the Spokesperson for the John Dramani Mahama said the filing of nomination was “originally planned for Monday (20 March 2023). The John Mahama Campaign is very sorry for the postponement, which is in response to a request from the party to reschedule because of the presentation of the party’s True State of the Nation Address.”
The former President was one of four persons to pick forms to contest to be the NDC’s Flagberer during the party’s 13 May 2023 primaries.
Mr. Mahama is expected to arrive at the NDC’s headquarters in the after to file his nomination.
Ahead of that Mr. John Dramani Mahama is expected to conclude the first phase of his Ashanti Region tour on Monday 20 March 2023.
