A Social Inclusion and Justice Advocate based in the US Dzogbordi Akyea has dismissed attempts to use Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as the standard for measuring Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman.
Since her announcement, as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, there have been attempts to compare the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and former Education minister to the Vice President.
These comparisons have led to questions raised about her credentials and whether she is able to do the work of a Vice President if the NDC is given the nod to run the country.

Speaking to Sena Nombo on the Pro-Forum Hour on Radio Gold, Dzigbordi Akyea says the comparisons are misplaced.
She believes the retired academic is “beyond capable.”
Dzigbordi Akyea believes comparing her to Vice President Dr. Bawumia and President Akufo-Addo is akin to watering down her credentials.
She is convinced Prof. Jane Opoku Agyeman is more qualified and prepared than Dr. Bawumia at the time he was first named Running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo in 2008.
The Social inclusion advocate also believes the NDC Running mate’s credentials in management is better than that of President Akufo-Addo.
Dzigbordi Akyea who also works in academia also says Prof. Opoku Agyeman’s track record in academia would make her better placed to run an inclusive economy that is empathetic to the needs of the Ghanaian.
She also says her work in education makes her the person to think and plan for the future because she has spent her life training the next generation.
