Member of Parliament (MP) for Odododiodioo, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye will be going unopposed in the impending Parliamentary Primaries of the National Democratic Congress in the constituency.
Prior to filing his nomination, a member of the party in the constituency, Space Clottey had indicated his readiness to file his nomination.
However he failed to turn up at the constituency office to file his nomination leaving the incumbent MP as the sole aspirant for the party’s parliamentary primaries.
Speaking to Radiogoldlive.com after filing his nomination, Nii Lante Vanderpuye expressed optimism to retain the seat for the NDC in next year’s polls with landslide victory.
“I have worked very hard for the party in the constituency and being able to provide the necessary support and social amenities for the constituents. Therefore am very confident to win the seat again for the party with a massive vote.”
Flanked by massive support base, the Odododiodioo legislator assured that it will sustain the development projects he has begun for his constituents.
“We have done a lot and will continue that development and that achievement. So I will continue to do what I have to do as an MP to provide the needed infrastructure for the constituency.”
Meanwhile the Parliamentary primaries have been scheduled to take place on 24th August 2019.
The Odododiodoo is an NDC stronghold and
has been represented by the party since 2004.
The only time it was represented by a New Patriotic Party was after 2000, when
Reginald Nii Bi Ayibonte beat the NDC’s two time MP, Nii Okaija Adamafio in a
relatively tight election.
