Aston Villa U-23 coach, George Boateng, says adapting to the physicality of the Premier League maybe Thomas Partey’s big issue at Arsenal, as games come thick and fast.
The 27-year-old central midfielder joined Arsenal from Spanish La Liga side, Atletico Madrid, where he states games are not as tough as in the Premier League.
The Ghana-born former Dutch international has hailed the exceptional abilities of the Black Stars deputy captain and believes he’d lead the Gunners to many victories.
“He’s a good ball-winner, and I like his structure. He understands the game very well. He knows his role so well as a six, having played at [Atletico] Madrid for many years in that position,” he told Citi Sports.
“The Premier League is so physically demanding, and that will be Thomas Partey’s, probably, big issue, dealing with the physical side of the game and having to play so many games.
“Every three days, there’s a match that you have to perform at your best. It’s quite tough for Thomas, but I’m expecting a lot from him.
“He’s going to lead Arsenal to many victories and obviously play well for the country as well.”
Partey has been injured since December 6, 2020, when he picked a thigh injury in a Premier League game against Tottenham and has now started individual training.
