President John Dramani Mahama’s Poultry Revitalization Program, also known as “Nkoko Nkitinkiti,” aims to boost Ghana’s poultry industry by supporting 50 anchor farmers to produce 4 million birds, equivalent to 10,000 metric tons of chicken. This initiative is part of the broader Feed Ghana
Programme, which focuses on enhancing food production, guaranteeing food security, and supplying raw materials to industries.
Key Objectives:
Reduce Chicken Imports
Ghana currently imports around $400 million worth of chicken annually. The program aims to reverse this trend by increasing local production-
Support Anchor Farmers
50 commercial poultry farmers will be registered and supported to meet the target production of 4 million birds annually
Household Poultry Initiative
55,000 households will be registered nationwide to raise 500 birds each year, producing over 1 million additional birds annually.
Improve Incomes and Nutrition
The program aims to empower women and improve household nutrition by increasing access to protein-rich food.

Invest in Hatcheries and Feed Mills
Strengthening critical supply chain infrastructure to support poultry farmers.
Veterinary Services and Processing Centers
Establishing poultry processing centers and providing veterinary services to ensure a complete domestic poultry value chain.
Collaboration with Poultry Farmers Association
Working closely with the association to ensure the program’s success
