President John Dramani Mahama will host the President of the Gabonese Republic, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, for a three-day official visit to Ghana from July 28 to 30, 2026, in a move aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
The visit, which comes at the invitation of President Mahama, will see President Oligui Nguema accompanied by a high-level delegation made up of government ministers, senior officials and members of the Gabonese business community.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, the visit represents “another watershed moment in the dynamic bilateral relations between Ghana and Gabon.”
On Tuesday, July 28, the two leaders will hold a private tête-à-tête before leading their respective delegations in official bilateral talks at the Jubilee House in Accra.
The discussions are expected to review the current state of relations between Ghana and Gabon while exploring new opportunities for collaboration across a broad range of sectors.
These include political and diplomatic consultations, trade and investment, mining, energy, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, maritime affairs, transport, tourism, education, health, defence and security cooperation, environmental protection, climate action and people-to-people exchanges.
The Presidency said the two Heads of State will also reaffirm their shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and promoting sustainable economic development for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.
The visit is expected to further enhance diplomatic and economic relations between Ghana and Gabon while creating new avenues for investment and strategic partnerships across key sectors.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.
