The Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has expressed “shock and deep sadness” at the death of former second lady Ramatu Aliu Mahama.
The widow of the late former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, according to her son Farouk Mahama passed on while on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
In a short to commiserate with the family of the late former second lady, Speaker of Ghana’s parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin described Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama as “a hardworking woman, a great asset to the nation and the strong pillar behind the exploits of her deceased husband, His Excellency Alhaji Aliu Mahama, a former Vice President of the republic.”
“May Alla be merciful and kind to Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama and may her beautiful soul rest peacefully in the bosom of her maker.”
“My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, loved ones and the entire nation during this period of grief,” Speaker Alban Bagbin stated.
