Nii Yarboi Annan accuses rebellious NPP MPs of bias for excluding Abena Osei Asare from Finance Ministers to be fired
Financial Analyst Nii Yarboi Annan has accused the 80 NPP MPs demanding the removal of Ken Ofori Atta and Charles Adu Boahen of bias
According to him, the MPs should have included Abena Osei Asare in the list of people that needed to be replaced.
Abena Osei Asare has been a deputy Minister of Finance for six years after serving as deputy to Mr. Ken Ofori Atta at the Finance ministry alongside Charles Adu Boahen and Kwaku Kwarteng.
Charles Adu Boahen was made Minister of State at the Finance Ministry at the start of the second term of President Akufo-Addo in 2021 while Kwaku Kwarteng returned to Parliament to Chair Parliament’s select committee on Finance.
Speaking to Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation, Nii Yarboi Annan questioned why the 80 NPP MPs excluded Abena Osei Asare from the list of ministers at the Finance ministry who needed to be replaced.
He suspects Abena Osei Asare was excluded because she is a Member of Parliament.
The Financial Analyst is of the opinion that what the government needed was a clear-out of everyone that followed Ken Ofori Atta to the Finance Ministry in 2017.
He said the clear-out must affect all Databank staff that Mr. Ken Ofori Atta took to the Finance Ministry.
President Akufo-Addo seems to have successfully convinced the 80 MPs to allow Ken Ofori Atta to stay on till 2023 when he completes a round of negotiations with the International Monetary Fund.
