The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, has called on the Speaker to summon the Minister for the Interior to brief the House on the worsening security situation in the country.
In a Facebook post, Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa said he has “made an urgent application in Parliament requesting the Rt. Hon. Speaker to summon the Minister for the Interior to appear in Parliament and brief the House and the entire nation on the worrying insecurity situation occasioned by the protracted kidnapping of the Takoradi Girls and the latest kidnapping of two Canadian volunteers which may appear to be following a troubling pattern after an Indian and an Estonian diplomat were kidnapped recently”.
The MP commended the Speaker for his ruling and his commitment to ensure that Parliament carries out its oversight duties in the pursuit of our collective peace and security.
