The Adwumawura Programme is an initiative launched by President John Dramani Mahama to create 40,000 youth-owned businesses across Ghana over the next four years.
The program aims to transform job seekers into job creators through entrepreneurship, providing multiple forms of support to young entrepreneurs, including:
Business Development Training: Equipping participants with essential business skills
Access to Funding: Providing financial support to start or grow businesses
Coaching and Mentorship: Offering guidance and expertise to navigate business challenges
Technological Support: Enhancing business operations with technology-
Equipment Access: Supplying necessary equipment for businesses
Market Facilitation: Connecting businesses with potential investors and partners

Target Beneficiaries
At least 60% of beneficiaries will come from traditionally underserved groups, including women and girls, persons with disabilities, unemployed youth, rural populations, and former illegal miners
Annual Trade Fair
An annual Adwumawura trade fair and exhibition will be held to showcase successful businesses and connect them with potential investors and partners
Funding
The program is fully funded with GH₵100 million from the national budget for 2025
How to Apply:
- Applications will be accepted through an online portal starting May 2025
- The first cohort of businesses will be selected by the end of 2025
- An independent selection committee will evaluate applications based on scalability, sustainability, and potential for job creation
