Former Energy Minister Brake Agyarko says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must bravely admit to Ghanaians the dire state of the economy.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Mr Agyarko said the government must consciously urge citizens to prepare for tough economic times and take the necessary steps to restore fiscal discipline, adding that public finance management must be a priority.
“The economy is not doing well. This is the first admission we must bravely make. And we must make plans that require collective sacrifice. Let’s share the pain, Now we are in a situation where we have played so much, and now we are in a desperate situation.
We must prepare the nation for the difficulties ahead. We must take our public finance management seriously and our citizens’ responsibilities seriously. Nobody will come from anywhere to help us. Said. Meanwhile, he has indicated his willingness to run in the upcoming NPP presidential primary.
He says he will decline any appointment to serve in the Akufo Addo’s government as he is currently focused on his presidential ambitions.
” I’m pursuing my own presidential ambitions, which many people have stood for from the start. I will not leave her to do anything else. I’m focused on what I need to do for myself and my nation. That’s my approach. If you serve with all your might and the person doesn’t appreciate it, move on.
