The National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has lambasted the government for imposing hardship and pain on Ghanaians.
During a campaign visit to Funoke a community in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region, she criticized the government’s failure to address pressing issues affecting citizens.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang is on a three-day campaign tour in the Western Region.
She promised that the next NDC government would prioritize the needs of Ghanaians, particularly in rural areas like Funoke if voted into power.
The NDC Running mate pledged that the next John Mahama government would fix the deplorable Funoke Road and address premix fuel shortage and other challenges facing fishing communities nationwide.
“We will not abandon you,” she assured the residents. “We will work tirelessly to bring about the change you deserve.”
She urged the people of Funoke, Tarkwa Nsuaem, and Mpohor-Fiase to vote massively for the NDC in the upcoming elections, reiterating that their votes would be a key step towards ending the suffering inflicted by the current government.
For his part, the chief of Funoke, Nana Ekow Nkane IV appealed to the future NDC government to help fix the deplorable Funoke Road and also address the challenges facing fishermen in his community.
He said fishermen in his community were facing difficulties including constant shortage of premix fuel and the high cost of outboard motors that he said was hampering fishing activities within his community.
Professor Opoku Agyemang received a rousing welcome in Tarkwa Nsuaem, Ahanta West, and Mpohor-Fiase constituencies on the day of her western Regional campaign tour.
Residents in all three areas expressed their desire for change, citing similar issues of hardship and pain imposed by President Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia’s government.
They vowed to vote against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for inflicting hardship and pain on them.
