Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Okudzeto Ablakwa has questioned the President of Ghana why his cousin is still at post after all the mess Ghana’s economy is going through.
Okudzeto Ablakwa believes that Ghana should take inspiration from the United Kingdom’s sack of Kwasi Kwarteng who has not done a quarter of the mess created by Ken Ofori Atta to sack him and bring in someone who will help put the country’s economy on track.
“Kwasi Kwarteng hasn’t done a fraction of the damage Ken Ofori-Atta has caused the Ghanaian economy but he gets to be sacked and Ken is showered with praises from his family member, President Akufo-Addo as Ghanaians languish in more pain.”
Kwasi Kwarteng is no longer chancellor after his meeting with Prime Minister Liz Truss at Downing Street a report by the BBC says.
Lizz Truss according to reports will hold a news conference later today as speculations continue to build that the government could reverse more of the tax cuts announced in its mini-budget.
Kwasi Kwarteng becomes the second shortest-serving Chancellor on record after Lain Macleod who is dead.
Since 2019, the United Kingdom has had four Chancellors including Nadhim Zahawi who served for 62 days and Sajid Javid who served for 204 days.
