Dancehall Artiste Stonebwoy has questioned African governments on where funds they have raised over the years gone to.
He believes that African leaders have initiated money collecting initiatives in their countries but the level of development does not commensurate with the monies taken from the people.
Stonebwoy made this known in a post shared on social media.
To him, it’s worrying that Africa continues to wallow in poverty and underdevelopment when several monies are taken from the people.
He said, “How wrong would I be if I said most of our African Govts have implemented many money collecting initiatives but have done little or nothing with the funds accumulated?”.
Stonebwoy’s comment comes during a time the people of Ghana are fighting the government over the introduction of the e-levy.
The Government intends to take 1.75% from all electronic transactions in the country, however, this has been met with contempt and has been described as thievery.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) insists that the levy will bring untold hardship to the people of Ghana and has promised that in the unlikely event that the NPP government implements it, they will scrap it in their first 100 days in office.
