Executive members of the Young Progressive Network (YPN) have paid a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo Obenewah, to discuss key issues relating to youth empowerment, environmental sanitation, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles for socio-economic development.
The delegation was led by the Convener of the Network, Mr. Patrick Asford Boadu, and included Mr. Ernest Ato Essuman Ekwam and Ms. Celestine Eyram Amekah, both members of the Public Relations Department of the Young Progressive Network.
The visit was aimed at formally introducing the Young Progressive Network and its operations to the Regional Minister, while outlining the organisation’s ongoing initiatives, particularly within the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.
Addressing the Minister, Mr. Patrick Asford Boadu highlighted the Network’s support for all 14 Assembly Members in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality, as well as its commitment to training the youth to acquire technical and vocational skills.
He further noted the Network’s active involvement in enhancing environmental sanitation as part of efforts to promote sustainable development.
According to him, these initiatives are designed to complement and augment the efforts of the Municipal Chief Executive of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey, particularly in advancing youth development and improving sanitation management within the municipality.
Mr. Boadu also formally appealed to the Regional Minister to support the operations of the Young Progressive Network, stressing that such collaboration would help the organisation achieve its vision and mission of empowering young people and contributing meaningfully to community development.
In response, Hon. Linda Ocloo Obenewah welcomed the delegation and assured the Network of her office’s readiness to partner and provide support whenever called upon.
“Sanitation challenges remain an urgent matter in the Greater Accra Region, and I am poised to liaise with all my development partners to facilitate your duties,” the Minister noted.
She commended the Young Progressive Network for its proactive approach and encouraged the group to remain committed to initiatives that promote youth empowerment, environmental cleanliness, and healthy living across the region.
