Member of Parliament for Tamale North Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini said government’s crunch cabinet meeting to address the prevailing economic difficulties should focus on the government’s approach.
Government has been meeting to find a solution to the current economic difficulties with indications that it may be considering going for an IMF program on the back of difficulties to pass Electronic Transactions Levy Bill.
In an interview with Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive Alhassan Suhuyini says government’s problem is not the E-levy but its approach.
He said the government is encountering its current challenges because of its arrogant posturing.
The Tamale North MP said the current impasse in Parliament would have been avoided if government had eschewed its arrogant posturing.
Alhassan Suhuyini says government has to adopt a much more sober approach which would involve listening to the opposition, civil society and all citizens if it wants to make progress.
