In November 2024, news broke that a 10-year-old girl named Lisa Laryea, who was battling leukemia, had been flown to South Africa for specialised treatment, thanks to the generosity of renowned Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist, Ibrahim Mahama.

However, in a heartbreaking update on December 19, 2024, GHOne has reported the passing of Lisa Laryea in South Africa following surgery.

Lisa’s journey to South Africa was facilitated by Ibrahim Mahama, who covered over $110,000 for her treatment and ensured she was transported via an emergency chartered air ambulance.
