Thirty-nine (39) basic schools in the Amenfi Central Constituency are benefiting from a Teaching and Learning Initiative spearheaded by the Member of Parliament, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, aimed at strengthening education delivery and improving teacher welfare across the constituency.
The initiative, which targets both teachers and students, forms part of the MP’s broader commitment to enhancing educational outcomes and promoting human capital development in Amenfi Central.
It provides monthly financial support totaling GHC 84,240.00 to participating schools to aid teaching, learning, and general school administration.
Among the beneficiary schools are Agyedum D/A Primary, Obing Methodist Primary, and Chichiso No. 2 Primary School, along with 36 other basic schools across the constituency.
In total, over 130 teachers are directly benefiting from the programme, which supports effective teaching and boosts morale within the education sector.
The initiative currently serves a total student enrollment of 8,829, ensuring that learning conditions are improved for thousands of pupils. With a monthly expenditure exceeding GHC 84,000, the Teaching and Learning Initiative has so far cost over GHC 580,000 within seven months of implementation.
Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe has reiterated her belief that investing in education is critical to the socioeconomic development and long-term progress of Amenfi Central.
She noted that empowering teachers and providing adequate learning support for students will help raise academic standards and prepare the youth for future opportunities.
Community leaders and education stakeholders have widely welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, particularly in improving access to quality basic education in the constituency.
