Immediate past spokesperson of the Ghana, DCOP Kwesi Ofori has admonished journalists to desist from always painting the service black but rather balance their reportage.

The retired police officer wants the media to rather focus their lens on highlighting ‘’good things the service is doing’’.

Speaking during an exit ceremony held in his honour, DCOP Kwesi Ofori a graduate from the Ghana Institute of Journalism said, ‘’be balanced in your media narratives about policing, your headlines should not always clamor with accusations that the police are bad’’.

He also charged the media to see the good things the police is doing at Afram plains in the eastern region where according to him, the incidence of highway robbery has been drastically reduced.

The Ghana Police Service recently supervised a demonstration in Accra held by Arise Ghana that resulted in the injury of several civilians and some police officers.

Many Ghanaians lambasted the Ghana police Service for their poor handling of the protest.

DCOP Kwesi Ofori has officially retired from the Ghana Police service.

This follows his attainment of the compulsory retirement age of 60.

A colorful pull-out ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Ghana police training school in Accra to bid him farewell after 35 years of active service as a police officer.
